Aida Camp Popular Committee Participates in Final Seminar for Refugee Camp Improvement Project
The Aida Camp Popular Committee, along with several representatives of active institutions in the camp, participated in the final seminar for the Refugee Camp Improvement Project. The seminar was organized by the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Department of Refugee Affairs in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The seminar was held at the Millennium Hotel in Ramallah over two days, Wednesday and Thursday.
The seminar aimed to present and discuss the results achieved by the project during its implementation period, as well as review the most prominent challenges facing Palestinian camps and proposed solutions to improve the living conditions of refugees, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, services, and activating local community participation.
Aida Camp was represented at the seminar by a delegation from the Popular Committee and several representatives of community institutions in the camp. They contributed to the discussions and presented the camp’s needs and priorities, emphasizing the need for continued cooperation between official and international donor agencies to strengthen the resilience of refugees and improve their living environment.
Representatives of the Popular Committee also commended the role played by the Department of Refugee Affairs and JICA in supporting the project, emphasizing that participation in such seminars provides an important platform for exchanging expertise and experiences across the various Palestinian camps and helps strengthen collective action to improve the lives of refugees.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the importance of building on what has been achieved and expanding the scope of future projects was emphasized, ensuring a tangible and sustainable impact on the lives of refugees in the Palestinian camps.
